Words on the Word

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

To go to confession is a wonderful thing. Why, then, are so many people intimidated by the mere thought of it? This talk, given in a series of Retreat Saturdays proposed by the Brigittine nuns, was an attempt to explain and reassure. I’d entitled it: ‘Confession: Manual for Use with Table of Contents’. You can hear it here, though alas, only in Norwegian.

Here are two exemplarily patient members of the audience showing an instinctive theological flair for the link between confession and baptism, represented in the holy water. Photo: Pål Johannes Nes.
